Executive Staff Officer, Teacher Employment Services
Myra joined the Association’s Teacher Employment Services (formerly Teacher Welfare) executive staff in 2018. She holds a Labour Relations Certificate and Advanced Labour Relations Certificate from Queen’s University, a BEd from the University of Alberta and a MEd in Educational Leadership at the University of Calgary. Prior to joining the Association, Myra taught high school for 20 years in the Lakeland Catholic and Parkland School Divisions. She initiated the first Gay-Straight Alliance for the students of Parkland School Division.

Myra served the Association in a number of roles at the local and provincial level including school representative, ARA delegate, TWC member, NSC member, Political Engagement Officer, Convention Board Representative, Parkland Teachers’ Gay Straight Alliance chair and local Vice President. At the provincial level, Myra held executive positions at the North Central Teachers’ Convention Association for 8 years. In addition to acting as a representative of the bargaining agent, Myra acts as the Association’s expert on pension and staff advisor to the Alberta School Learning Commons Council.
