Chris joined the Association’s Teacher Employment Services (formerly Teacher Welfare) executive staff in August of 2011. Chris holds a BEd degree from the University of Alberta. Prior to joining the Association, Chris spent the last 21 years of his 23-year teaching career in rural Alberta. Chris taught English and instrumental music in Whitecourt, Alberta and spent the last nine years of his teaching career instructing both junior high science and English in Hanna, Alberta.
In addition to advising and representing teachers in Teacher Employment Services, Chris is secretary to the Benefits, Insurance and Pension Committee (formerly Pension Committee) secretary to the Professional Conduct Committee, staff advisor to the Red Deer College Education Student Local, and staff advisor to the ATA Science Council. Chris’ responsibilities also include representing members in pension matters and member education on pension entitlements, which includes the Association’s former retirement consultant corps.
