This workshop will introduce participants to the principles of task-based language teaching (TBLT) and resources developed by the Lethbridge Curriculum Developers Group to promote engagement in the French classroom. Participants will be introduced to three websites that have been developed to support French language instruction in Alberta classrooms. The first website provides comprehensive materials to teach the grade four French as a second language program of study. The second website includes a variety of lesson plans and accompanying materials, videos, intercultural resources, and engaging tasks for grades five to eight, while the third website outlines a variety of games that can be used in the language classroom to promote engagement and language acquisition.
