Hutterite History and Teaching on a Colony Today

This workshop will cover a timeline of over 400 years of Hutterite history and culminate with their current lifestyle and culture in the year 2020. There will be on overview of then numbers of Hutterites in Canada and the USA and especially Alberta and an explanation of the different sects. If anyone is interested in teaching at a colony school, this presentation will be beneficial for background knowledge and cultural awareness. It will also include an introduction to the Alberta Colony Educators Special Interest Group which provides support to colony educators across the province of Alberta. Finally, there will be an opportunity for question and answer and networking at the end of the session.
