Using Number Talks for Teaching, Learning and Assessment

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Feedback form is now closed.

Number Talks have been a game changer for teachers across North America. Teachers are finding that students are able to solve operation questions at higher level and their mental math skills are improving. Number Talks require students to engage in mathematical discourse to justify and prove their thinking. They feel empowered when they are able to share their own strategy and promote the learning of their peers. Teachers will leave this session knowing how to utilize Number Talks in their classrooms. Prompts, questions and tasks will be provided to assist teachers in using the Number Talk Framework to teach other strands such as geometry and patterns.
