Kids author Marty Chan shares his approach to teaching figures of speech. With a combination of storytelling, game play, and interactive demonstrations, he reveals how he gets kids excited to use similes, metaphors, hyperbole, allusions, and personification. He discusses his techniques in adapting literary concepts to kid friendly terms so that students can embrace and enjoy figures of speech in their writing.
