The Unpacking Poverty and Inequality Through Spoken Word was developed by Patricia Jagger in collaboration with the Aspen Foundation for Labour Education. The resource explores issues relating to equity and poverty while underscoring cross-curricular and competency-based approaches in both social studies and English language arts. Specifically, this session will engage participants in an exploration of spoken word poetry to engage secondary learners of all abilities in better understanding and acting on these contemporary issues.
