ATA President’s Address - Jason Schilling NCTCA 2021 Video Library - Closed Each Pre-recorded session can be found within our schedule or can be watched on demand in our Video Library and will be available for the entire month of February. LIVE sessions that are being recorded will be in the library Monday, February 8.
Often, we approach film in our classes as a thing which can be inherently understood, but many students struggle to talk about film because they lack the understanding of filmic language. In this session, we'll be starting at the ground floor: we will walk through the basics of film language and then explore multiple examples from various films to better understand how a filmmaker creates meaning through framing, angles, movement and editing.
Shane has been teaching Film Studies/Production for the past 10 years, alongside ELA, Drama, Art and Computers. He's most excited about helping young filmmakers find the areas of production they're most passionate about.
