Sgraffito in an ancient and beautiful method of creating a detailed surface decoration on a ceramic surface. Suitable for all ages and abilities of potters, sgraffito can also tie into other subject areas, particularly history and language arts. This style of decorating pottery can be done with any grade level. Attendees will learn about this ancient technique, prepare clay surfaces and carve their own sgraffito tile.
I have been an Elementary/Art teacher since 1985. I have a wide range of interests from raising and showing dogs to working in all kinds of art media. I live on a small farm near Drayton Valley.
