The goal of school sport is to provide an "educational athletic" experience that celebrates the physical and emotional benefits of sport participation while also adding to the educational experience. This is a challenging task that requires constant attention. Coaches of student-athletes can best achieve this goal if they are supported and well-equipped with tools that help them highlight and recognize the differences between school sport and other sport, featuring methodology that intentionally furthers the educational aspect of sport. Attendees of this workshop will be provided with a framework for educational athletics as well as directed to numerous resources to support their development as school sport coaches.
