We need to adjust our expectations around regulation to enhance our own health, longevity, and courage to teach. Sometimes, we are simply not going to be able to solve, fix, control, or eliminate the serious regulation challenges these learners experience (like trauma). Regulation can seem next to impossible for many young humans unless the adults are regulated first. Let's look at some relatively positive and simple actions a teaching professional can take to regulate themselves for the benefit of our health first and the students' learning second.
