GitHub: Expanding the Computer Science Curriculum

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Github is a repository service which enables users to collaborate on projects, all the while keeping track of changes when they occur and who made those changes. It is a web-based platform used for version control. GitHub has over 650,000 developers registered on the site, hosting more than 500,000 unique open source projects and 1.8million total repositories. You will learn how to install and use this program/service which at the basic level operates much like a shared Google Drive but with a higher level of security. How valuable Github is as a resource? Microsoft bought it for $7.5 B (2018). Remember: "Knowledge is Power". Participants should bring their laptop/tablet.
