Teach your students to Build, Explain, Represent, & Compare numbers to 20 using visual spatial models that connect "number sense" for numbers to 10, then to 20 with knowing and remembering number facts for addition and subtraction. Learn to identify the difference between "knowing number" and knowing "number facts". Learn some tasks that will help you quickly assess that difference with your students. Leave with several practice tasks that will help your students to build the reasoning & RECALL skills that make memorizing facts make sense. Tasks you can embed into: • whole class lessons, • guided math stations or groups • one on one and small group interventions • formative/summative /assessments.
