NCTCA 2021

The increased use of standardized testing has resulted in a much higher level of test anxiety; in a population already struggling to cope with both academic and personal stresses. This session will outline a group approach to dealing with test anxiety. It will provide teachers with strategies to deal with the physical, cognitive and emotional manifestations of anxiety that could be applied to a small group or even classroom setting. A group can be an efficient and effective way to support students who are negatively affected by these feelings and are unable to fully demonstrate their understanding of the content covered in class.
